French Horn Quartets

This page was set up because of the difficulty I had, as an amateur horn player, in (a) firstly finding classical horn quartets and (b) once I had found them, knowing what the horn quartet sounded like.

To assist any fellow hornists out there,I have transcribed some horn quartets using "Sibelius" and prepared some MP3s from them.
This spreadsheet gives some sources of some of the horn quartets available on the web. I hope to put links here for any horn quartet which is available on-line: either free to download, or available to buy. Modern full scores and parts are available at my score exchange site.(Parts are provided in the original keys as well as transpositions for Horns in F, together with a 4 parts score in the original keys.)
Some judicial changes have been made to notes where the originals appear incorrect, together with some changes to expression marks so that all parts agree.
My MP3s (mainly computer generated) are to be found on score exchange and free-scores.com. Copies of my MP3s are available to download at free-scores.com Free scores are available at IMSLP (International Music Score Library Project.)(horn quartets) and free-scores.com.(Generally copies of the originals) Depending on copyright terms and whether the music is within public domain in your country.
